Do not be that person. And if at all possible, try not to have people like that on your team. Also, sometimes a good personality is considered better than getting the job done quickly and effectively.<br /><br />Money: it&#39;s not the most important thing, except when you truly don&#39;t have enough of it. Yet almost everybody at every income level seems to place too much importance on it.<br /><br />Friends: no matter if you&#39;re an introvert or an extrovert, a loner or a social butterfly, good friends do not come along every day. If and when you find them, treasure and nurture them. They are worth the time.<br /><br />Sex: in a society like ours where sex is everywhere, it&#39;s easy to feel pressure. In the end, the only thing that&#39;s important is to know what you and your partner (if you have one) want.<br /><br />Religion: To me, this proves that people by and large must believe in something bigger than themselves, and religion is the most likely way people all over the world do so. It is supposed to provide answers to why things are the way they are. For me, religion does not provide any answers.<br /><br />Politics: people treat politics and the party they affiliate with almost as much reverence and often with as much irrationality as religion. Once they pick a side, most are not willing to listen to other possibilities, just like religion.<br /><br />As I am still alive for who knows how long, all of this is subject to change. But then again, maybe not. Marriage is a stand for something (i.e., each other). If the sex is bad, you just discovered one reason why standing is harder than sitting. But while standing might be hard, you can&#39;t get very far sitting. That&#39;s what I&#39;ve learned in three decades.
