I happened upon the editor-in-chief of a major publication. She said that her publication was looking for bloggers and invited me to email her the link to this blog. I did.
A day later, she emailed me to say that she found my posts on boys and men to be "a caricature of the men's advocate" and that I needed to "limber up" my reasoning and persuasiveness.
I'd appreciate knowing if the readers of this blog agree.
Well of course SHE wants you to limber up and adjust your message so it becomes more palatable to HER. Don't change a thing.
ReplyDeleteA caricature of the men's advocate? I can't imagine what her version of the ideal men's advocate is supposed to be, but my guess is that he should be more like a woman.
ReplyDeleteThis does not sound like a person I'd want to work with. She sounds rather tactless and rude. I have a feeling that if you had written nothing about boys and men, you'd have been welcomed.
You might ask her what you could do to improve. If she answers, it would likely be a good insight into how she sees the world and not just your writing and views.
You know, if you caught the attention of the editor-in-chief of a major publication, you're probably doing something right.
