So don't let the flat unemployment statistics suggest that the job market is stablizing. A person who previously worked for $75,000 a year may now well be working for $10 an hour yet will still be counted in the government statistics as "employed."
I truly am worried and sad for those who are trying to earn a middle-class living in today's America.
I knew this was going to happen 40 years ago. Nobody took me seriously back then...but I shall refrain from saying, "I told you so". Actually I wasn't the only one saying it. Several books I recall from back then were "America After Nixon" by Robert Scheer, and "The Screwing of the Average Man" by Charles Hapgood. Scheer's book included a glowing description of Mao-ist China as a sort of solution to America's inpendimg doom, but then Marxists were always a lot better at analyzing the problem then they were at coming up with a solution.
ReplyDeleteMr Nemko,speaking of solutions,
what do you know about emmigration from America? I'm speaking of the actual mechanics of moving from this country to another. Do you know of people who have done it and what they learned?
Alas, I know next to nothing about expatriating. Google and "Amazon" that term.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet you advocate slashing "the Pentagon" budget by 80-90 percent?
