I chose to not have kids, and my wife amicably filed for divorce over it. After that, I got a vasectomy. Three years later (last month), my ex girlfriend called to tell me she's pregnant with my child. Sometimes you try to do the right, responsible thing, and it doesn't matter because life plays tricks on you. I'm totally stressing out about how I'm going to make the child support payments (well over $1k a month) on a baby I didn't want and went to great lengths (surgery) to prevent having.
Vasectomies don't work. I'm so screwed and have to move or maybe leave a job I like simply because I can't afford what will surely be sky high child support payments. Worst of all, there's no solution to this problem and nothing I can do about it.
They can't do a paternity test until the baby is born (they can, but it's considered high risk and they won't do it). But I'm 99.9% sure it's mine because she was faithful to me and we're responsible people. It's rare, but it does happen more than you'd think. I should get my latest sperm count results this week, but two years ago it was zero. I'm still in shock over this, and I hope your readers who have had a vasectomy or are considering one please learn from my mistake/luck.

Are you sure you're in fact the father. There are many false paternity claims. When in doubt, get a paternity test.
