Your advice on Ivy League schools is wrong, if your child got into Harvard and you told him/her to to consider a "lesser" school you are an idiot. My daughter was accepted and is going to Harvard for absolutely 0 dollars. You really need to check your facts before giving advice on such an important life changing choices.
Before assuming I'm an idiot based on your one child have been admitted to Harvard on a full ride, and not even having started yet, you might want to see whether I have a more substantive basis for my assertions. You might, for example, see the Wikipedia entry on me.
Thank you for this series on helping boys, Marty. Brilliant idea. Thank you for being a rare media voice that considers the needs of boys. John, who chimed in about his girl above would do well to examine Malcolm Gladwell's book, David and Goliath, for a more nuanced analysis of choosing Ivies vs State schools, particularly for STEM degrees, which is where boys should head. There aren't bright line answers on these questions. His ad hominem attack shows he has no idea who you are.
