On my NPR-San Francisco radio show today, I moderated a debate on the topic: Are diverse workplaces better? The debaters were both excellent and despite the issue's incendiary nature, shed much light and no undue heat. It was much more intelligent, respectful, and honest than most debates on such an incendiary subject.I believe this debate represents a model for what President Obama, Attorney General Holder, and former President Clinton were hoping for when they called for an honest discussion of race in America.
