The Video of the Piano Concert I Gave
In an earlier post, I mentioned that I was giving a piano concert in my home. Well, here it is. In sum, it's my life told with stories and piano playing: from show tunes to Tom Lehrer, from ragtime to Les Mis to The Stripper (including audience participation!) There's even a magic trick.

I had the pleasure of seeing the concert live, and I'm glad I now have a record of it. All of us have some kind of soundtrack to our lives. What fun to hear yours.

I love this idea of an in-home concert. So many people fail to take their non-paying skills (I would use the word 'hobby' here, but I think it was/is more than that for you) and take them this seriously.
Marty - how often do you practice?
Annie, I never practice. In my entire life, I've never practiced more than 15 minutes a day and haven't done that for 45 years.
For this concert, I prepared simply by playing much (not all) of the concert for a friend. It sounded okay so I didn't even run through it all. That's it.
I know that sounds impossible but my piano playing and a few other things are simply a gift I inherited from my parents.
That's part of what makes me in awe of the power of genetics and less impressed with claims that the environment can trump one's genes.
It was just as entertaining as you hoped it would be. Might have to out you on the list. Great finally see you and your songbird together. If you ever do this again, would love to hear a few [planned] songs from her. Thanks for recording it and putting it up in its entirety for those of us who -- er, couldn't come -- I was afraid it was going to be a sand mandala. Not all of your legacy should be career and political stuff -- some should be this pure pleasure and playfulness.
