I Make Another Attempt to Play the Piano with Seven Fingers
Not long ago, I developed a hand condition that renders three of my fingers pretty much useless, especially when trying to play the piano. Here's my attempt to play anyway. It starts slowly but then, gradually...

Marty - that was great! You are an inspiration.
Still pretty good, Marty. Do you think it's permanent? I know since starting to play the violin, I realized how physical being a musician is. You really depend on your body and the important parts to keep working, depending on the instrument.
I just saw a news special on this little girl, so I Googled a lot of her videos. In fact she's from a town very near to where I grew up, but she started seeing the spotlight a little when she was 6 (now she's about 11). I never heard of her until now. I know you've talked about how you learned the piano, etc., but as a life long career this girl probably has, what do you think of something like this from a career and musician perspective?

My honest reaction: She's a testament to the power of marketing. She's okay, nothing more, even given her age. For example, calling her album "Diversity" is brilliant--tied perfectly into the PBS-ish niche her handlers are targeting.
My condition is permanent, alas. I just don't think about it and try to play as well as I can.
